1. Visual Impairment (VI):
   • Eligibility applies to persons with one of the following conditions after the best correction:
     • Blindness:

       ii. Visual acuity less than 3/60 or less than 10/200 (Snellen) in the better eye with best possible correction, OR
       iii. Limitation of field vision subtending an angle of less than 10 degrees.
     • Low Vision:
       i. Visual acuity not exceeding 6/18 or less than 20/60 up to 3/60 or 10/200 (Snellen) in the better eye with best possible corrections, OR
       ii. Limitation of field vision subtending an angle between 40 degrees and 10 degrees.
2. Hearing Impaired (HI):
   • Includes individuals with one of the following conditions:
     • Deaf:
       i. Persons with a hearing loss of 70 dB or more in speech frequencies in both ears.
     • Hard of Hearing:
       i. Persons with a hearing loss ranging from 60 dB to 70 dB in speech frequencies in both ears.

• The suitability of posts for the above disability categories is defined in the Schedule of the RPWD Act, 2016, as notified by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan).
