IBPS Clerk Recruitment 2024 Salary:

  • Rs. 19900 – 47920 Per Month

Eligibility Details:

  • Qualification: Graduation in any discipline with proficiency in local language. Basic Knowledge of Computer.
  • Benchmark Disability: Only those with a benchmark disability (not less than 40% of a specified disability) are eligible for reservation. The disability must be certified by a competent authority. Verification or re-verification of the certificate may be required at any stage of the selection process.

Reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities:

Under Section 34 of “The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016”, persons with benchmark disabilities are eligible for reservation. The posts identified as suitable for such individuals fall under the categories of disabilities defined in the Schedule of RPWD Act 2016, as notified by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) from time to time.

A. Visual Impairment (“VI” Category):

Only those Visually Impaired persons who meet one of the following conditions, after best correction, are eligible to apply:

  1. Blindness:
    • Total absence of sight; OR
    • Visual acuity less than 3/60 or less than 10/200 (Snellen) in the better eye with best possible correction; OR
    • Limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of less than 10 degrees.
  2. Low Vision:
    • Visual acuity not exceeding 6/18 or less than 20/60 up to 3/60 or up to 10/200 (Snellen) in the better eye with best possible corrections; OR
    • Limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of less than 40 degrees up to 10 degrees.

B. Hearing Impairment (“HI” Category):

  1. Deaf:
    • Means having 70 DB hearing loss in speech frequencies in both ears.
  2. Hard of Hearing:
    • Means having 60 DB to 70 DB hearing loss in speech frequencies in both ears.

C. “OC” Category:

A person’s inability to execute distinctive activities associated with movement of self and objects resulting from affliction of the musculoskeletal or nervous system, or both, including:

  1. Leprosy Cured Person:
    • Loss of sensation in hands or feet as well as loss of sensation and paresis in the eye and eye-lid but with no manifest deformity; OR
    • Manifest deformity and paresis but having sufficient mobility in hands and feet to enable engagement in normal economic activity; OR
    • Extreme physical deformity as well as advanced age preventing any gainful occupation.
  2. Cerebral Palsy: Non-progressive neurological conditions affecting body movements and muscle coordination.
  3. Dwarfism: A medical or genetic condition resulting in an adult height of 4 feet 10 inches (147 cm) or less.
  4. Muscular Dystrophy: A group of hereditary genetic muscle diseases weakening the muscles that move the human body.
  5. Acid Attack Victims: Persons disfigured due to violent assaults by throwing of acid or similar corrosive substance.

D. Intellectual Disability (“ID” Category):

Persons who suffer from one of the following types of disabilities:

  1. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD): A neuro-developmental condition affecting communication and relationships.
  2. Specific Learning Disability (SLD): A group of conditions affecting the processing of language, spoken or written.
  3. Mental Illness (MI): A substantial disorder impairing judgment, behavior, and ability to meet the ordinary demands of life.

E. Multiple Disabilities:

Includes multiple disabilities among categories “A”, “B”, “C”, and “D”.

Guidelines for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities Using a Scribe:

  • The candidate must arrange their own scribe at their own cost.
  • Candidates using a scribe must produce a certificate from a competent medical authority at a Government healthcare institution.
  • The scribe’s qualification should be one step below that of the candidate.
  • The scribe must not be a candidate for the same examination.
  • Compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination is allowed for candidates using a scribe or those with locomotor disability, cerebral palsy, visually impaired candidates viewing the test in magnified font, or intellectual disability.

  • IBPS reserves the right to conduct re-exams if the genuineness of the candidate’s performance is in doubt.
