The Railway Group D recruitment provides specific provisions and reservations for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
1. Eligibility
- Candidates must have a minimum of 40% benchmark disability to qualify for PwBD reservation and benefits.
- Disabilities covered include:
- Visual Impairment (VI): Blindness and low vision.
- Hearing Impairment (HI): Deaf and hard of hearing.
- Locomotor Disability (LD): Including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims, muscular dystrophy, spinal deformity, or spinal injury without associated neurological/limb dysfunction.
- Intellectual Disability: Autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, and mental illness.

- Those found medically unfit for the applied post will not be considered, and alternative appointments are not provided.

- PwBD candidates must produce a Disability Certificate issued by a competent authority in the prescribed format (Annexure V-A, V-B, or V-C of the notification).
- Certificates issued under the repealed Persons with Disabilities Act, 1995, remain valid for the period specified.

- PwBD candidates must bring the original disability certificate, recent photographs, and valid photo identification for verification.
